When Ethan was five, he loved coloring — his favorite crayon was a bright blue one, even when the picture clearly called for green or yellow.
Grass? Blue.
The sun? Blue.
The dog? You guessed it — blue.
His teacher often corrected him, gently at first, then with growing frustration. “Ethan, that’s not the right color.”
But one day, his mother sat beside him as he colored. “Why blue?” she asked.
Ethan looked up and smiled. “Because blue feels happy.”
That simple answer changed everything.
Ethan’s story is a reminder that difference isn’t something to correct — it’s something to understand. When we take the time to listen and see the world through another person’s eyes, we realize that beauty often lives outside the lines we’ve been taught to follow.
Through every interaction — whether in families, classrooms, or communities — real inclusion begins the moment we stop trying to make people fit and start learning to see them as they are.
Every person has their own way of expressing light. And when we open ourselves to that, the world becomes richer, more compassionate, more alive.
Every blue crayon, every new perspective, adds color to our collective canvas. So today, choose to see differently. Listen more deeply. Let empathy guide you.
Because sometimes, blue grass and blue suns make the most breathtaking art.
“We are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.” – Ephesians 2:10
