Hello Nione Family!
Even though April has passed, we couldn’t let Autism Awareness Month go by without a celebration! In this mid-May edition, we’re shining a belated but bright light on autism, challenging stigma, and sharing stories that inspire. Let’s continue celebrating the diversity of minds that make our world better.
How We Celebrated Last Month
Hosted community talks to raise ASD awareness— We gathered families, educators, and advocates to openly discuss autism, bust myths, and share personal journeys. In April, we were at Nairobi Chapel, Nakuru and Parklands Baptist Eastgate.

Shared social media spotlights on autism champions in Kenya and beyond— We highlighted voices making a difference, with Conversations with Kenyan content creator Maureen Waititu, who gave interesting insights on service in the church where children with autism is concerned.
How You Can Still Join the Movement
Wear blue and start conversations about autism— Something as simple as a blue t-shirt can spark dialogue and spread awareness.
Share your favorite autism fact online— Facts inform, inspire, and correct common misconceptions. Use your platforms for good!
Encourage inclusion in your everyday spaces— Whether it’s school, church, or your workplace—everyone can help create environments where neurodiversity is embraced.

Puzzle time = quiet + focus— Puzzles offer structure and can be calming while building problem-solving skills.
Music breaks (headphones optional)— Soothing music can ease anxiety and boost mood. Bonus points for dancing!
Create a visual schedule together— Visuals help children with ASD understand routines and reduce stress by knowing what’s coming next.
